Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Readvely (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is an offline writing application for iOS. This policy explains what information the app processes and how.
2. Information stored on your device
All content you create—including works, chapters, story assets, covers, and backups you choose to save—is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad, unless you explicitly export or share it through iOS (e.g. Files, Share Sheet).
- Manuscript and chapter text
- Story assets (characters, ideas, worldbuilding, etc.)
- Cover images you select from your photo library
- App preferences (theme, reader settings, editor defaults)
- Writing statistics and daily word-count tracking
3. Information we do not collect
- No registration, login, or user profile on our servers
- No upload of your manuscripts to our cloud
- No sale of your personal writing content
4. Permissions
Photo Library — Used only when you choose a cover image for a work. We do not access your photos without your action.
Files / document picker — Used for importing manuscripts (.txt, .rtf, .html; not .epub), importing text into Library, exporting .txt or .epub files, and backup (.zip) export or restore. Files you pick stay under your control.
Network (optional) — Core writing, reading, import, export, and backup work offline. Network access is used only when you choose optional rewarded ads (Settings → Rewards or work-limit prompts), subscribe or restore Premium, or when iOS checks for App Store updates. On some devices and iOS versions, the system may ask whether Readvely may use wireless/cellular data the first time such a network request occurs.
5. Advertising (free tier)
Readvely has no banner or interstitial ads in the writing flow. Non-Premium users may optionally watch rewarded ads (IronSource / LevelPlay) from Settings → Rewards, the first New Work “About Work Limits” prompt, or when the free work limit is reached (Limit Reached), to unlock +1 work slot. Ads and related SDK initialization occur only when you start that flow—not at app launch. Ad partners may collect device identifiers and usage data under their policies. iOS may show App Tracking Transparency (ATT) when you first choose to watch a rewarded ad; you can decline and still use the app for offline writing.
6. Subscriptions (Premium)
Premium purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit when you open Settings → Premium, subscribe, or tap Restore Purchases. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may provide subscription status needed to unlock Premium (unlimited works; Rewards entry hidden). Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
7. Analytics
Readvely does not include third-party analytics SDKs for tracking how you write. Word counts and progress metrics are computed and stored locally for your use inside the app.
8. Children
Readvely is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Data retention & deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it in the app (e.g. delete a work, chapter, or asset), use Clear All Data in Settings, or uninstall the app. Backups you save to Files are your responsibility to manage and delete.
10. International users
Because data stays on your device, cross-border transfer by us does not apply to your manuscript content. Ad and payment processors may process data according to their global infrastructure.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
